Concern for the environment is a key driver for many business owners, their employees and customers alike.
As such, many businesses are looking to reduce the impact they have on the environment across all areas of their operation.
Being environmentally friendly is no longer just a PR exercise but a real desire by the business to play its part in protecting the environment, developing sustainable products and ensuring that their processes and practices are as green as possible.
In our latest blog find out more about how you can ensure your next commercial refurbishment is as environmentally friendly as possible, no matter how big or small your business is.

When planning a renovation project, whether remodelling the living room or undertaking a commercial fit out, the tremendous choice of flooring to consider can be overwhelming. No more so than when it comes to Wooden Flooring.
We are often asked by customers for “wood flooring”, not realising that the phrase encompasses a wide range of flooring types including laminate, parquet, solid or engineered boards and now also Bamboo.
In this post, we look at the different types of wooden flooring available, explain how they differ and highlight the pros and cons of each. You can’t go far wrong in remembering that wood is a species, not a colour and for that reason, we embrace its uniqueness.

Just a handful of years ago it seemed like the world’s resources were infinite. But we know that this isn’t the case and instead both individuals and companies need to focus on finding sustainable ways in which to grow.
At Rivendell we believe in doing our bit for the planet. From reducing our paper output to exercising a strict recycling policy and encouraging a greener commute.
So, if you don’t already operate on this ethos we’ve compiled some top tips including a selection of fantastic eco-flooring – to get you started.

This month our MD Mandy got her hands on some fantastic samples of artificial grass. And we love it.
With our unreliable British weather, gardens across the nation often end up as a boggy mess or dry and yellow; neither situation is desirable. So whether you want to cheer up your own home or lay down an entire football pitch for your local team, artificial grass is an excellent solution on so many levels.
Here in our latest blog we’re going to explain the benefits of this ever popular concept and why you should love it as much as we do.

We have said it before and we’ll say it again, but at Rivendell we truly believe in doing our bit for the planet. Whether you recycle, take shorter showers, go paperless, or help the planet in other ways every little bit counts and it’s really rather important.
At our office we exercise a strict recycling policy as well as making sure we dispose of old flooring when fitting carpets, vinyl or wooden floors in all our clients homes. We’re even members of a number of environmental organisations such as the Woodland Trust and Children’s Scrap Store.
With all of this in mind, why not go one step further and make your home eco-friendly too? This month, our MD Mandy has been sampling some very special and equally beautiful environmentally friendly carpets made from plastic bottles. Yes, that’s right recycled plastic bottles.
