Wood flooring is a beautiful and smart way to finish your home or office, but there are some key things you can do to look after it so that it will continue to look great and last many years.
There are two ways of having ‘real’ wood flooring. Solid wood and engineered wood. Solid wood is made from a single piece of wood, whilst engineered flooring is built with different man-made layers with the final top layer being solid wood. We are often asked by customers for “wood flooring”, not realising that the phrase encompasses a wide range of flooring types including laminate, parquet, solid or engineered boards and now also Bamboo.

Whether you’re a fully devoted dog lover, a cat enthusiast or the proud owner of another friend from the animal kingdom; we know that pets are very much part of the family. They, of course, share our home and as much as we may love them we know that paws and claws mean furnishings take an extra battering.
If you are building a new home, renovating your current space or just fancy changing up the floor, it is important to consider your pets when making this decision. The obvious things to think about are the ease of cleaning and the durability of a floor, but there are many other advantages and disadvantages for each type of floor in regards to it being pet-friendly.

Renovating your home or workspace can be an exciting time and laying out a new floor is a fantastic way to breathe new life into a room. Whilst on the subject of breathing, it is also important to recognise the impact that specific types of flooring have on those who suffer from allergies and have the know-how to combat that.
Indoor allergy triggers can include anything from dust mites, mould, pollen trodden in from outside and pet hair to name but a few of the more common sensitivities.
